Papa and Nevi having fun

On Saturday, Devin and Nevi had quite a day! First they went to a Kids Dance Party in Jameson Square in Portland. Nevi's favorite radio show is called Greasy Kids Stuff on Saturday mornings at 8 am. This party was live and full of dancing! Then they went to waterfront park to witness the Red Bull Flutag event with 70,000 other people!
The Flutag event is when people create these supposed flight designs- run down a ramp and fall into the river below. It is a 22 foot drop off the ramp to the river and the hope is the fly a bit first- but not so much.

Here is father and daughter on yet another adventure- beautiful brown eyes.

Emi's Wedding

Here is my beautiful college friend, Emi. She and her love, Andy got married on July 19th!
Here I am jumping in the limo!

Emi getting dressed at home.

Bridesmaids getting ready...there were six of us from Lewis & Clark- so fun to all be together yet again. Emi is chilling before getting in her gown!

This was the day before the wedding- we went to a spa for pampering- a lovley bridesmaid treat. This is Alex- she is one of my favorite sisters....we travelled in Mexico and Guatemala together after college. Alex now lives in Mexico City for a few years...here she is about to ride her bicycle all around Portland with temporary flip flops and newly painted toes!

Here we are- getting bridesmaid ready...this is the 13th or so time I have been a bridesmaid~

The bride- relaxing and soaking! Hoorah.

Forty Something

On July 14th, I met my three dear childhood girls, jennifer, Drew and Sara in Boston for a Celebration: this year we all turn 40!
Here we are in our glory...at a fancy hotel in Post Office Square about to take a hot tub!

Sneaking down the hall to the SPA!

Coming home from a great dinner at Banq- a great resturant on Union Street! Lots of laughs and drinks!

The next day we had lunch in Quincy Market- propbabaly haven't been there since high school~

Beautiful, classic and charming Boston.

Our delightful hotel- we had adjoining suites-oh yes please.

Nevi in her element

As a mother, when I witness Nevi at the beach some part of me knows deep down that she is part of me. Without any words I can feel what she might be feeling. As a young girl I played in the same sea, on the same beach, in the same town....I felt a sense of safty by the sea...something wihich drew me in....a calm....and a sense of the wild. I watch Nevi play at this beach and we are connected by pleasure and the sea.
Comfort and wonder

Racing with Uncle Nat

OOOps I put this picture in twice- must be because it is so cute! Nothing better in life than a lovley sail on a beautiful day in a beautiful place with your Uncle!
This is at the end of the race...Ta Da!

Such a beautiful place to sail. I learned how to sail in these boats too. They are called Beetle Cats. They are mad out of all wood and float through the water with ease in just the right wind.

Wheeeeeeee!

Uncle Nat knows these waters like no one else and racing with him is a treat and a half. Nevi loves it whether they win or come in third- no mattter time on the sea with her Uncle is soulful.

Two peas in a pod!
