Love

Love changes with time.
It deepens below the surface of anything.
Ebbs and flows.
Cycles.
Surges.
Percolates.
Swells.
Radiant glow.
I will always love you, Devin Bailly.

Our Anniversary

Three years ago today...Devin and I had a beautiful wedding on the top of Mount Hood at Timberline Lodge. Our daughter was 11 months old at the time. Wow...how time flies by when you look at Nevi then and Nevi now...but it has only been three years. Yikes.

The Bailly Family

Devin was the officiant at the wedding. He did an amazing job as Rev. Dev.
Amelia is Jason and Jen's beautiful daughter and she joined the ceremony to recieve her special braclet. Well, Nevi wanted to be part of the fun...so she walked right up in the middle of everything. If her dad is up there, her aunt and uncle AND her cousin, well she better be there too!

Nevi as the BUBBLE Girl

Nevi was the bubble girl in Jason and Jen's wedding. Look at her joy!

Jen and Jason's Wedding

I love this picture even though it is not quite in focus. Jason, Devin's brother and Jen got married on 7-7-07 at 7pm. It was a wonderful celebration!

Nevi's First Day at Camp

Sorry it has been so long since I posted...summer is rnning away with me. Here is Sweet Nevi on her first day at Willowbrook. Willowbrook is an amazing camp for children here in the Portland area. It is liek being at country fair every day. It is called a camp for Human Development and they are not kidding. There are all of these tents set up with different activites in them. The children choose what they are interested in doing: dancing, art, creative writing, weaving, puppetry, violin and cello instruction, music, theatre, and on and on. Nevi's group, the 3 and 4 year olds are in their own little world called the Squirrel's Nest. There are wonderful people there helping them choose activites, live in creativity and wonder! She is having a blast!

Home

It has been awhile since I last wrote- we are HOME. Here is a picture of our house, but it is not yellow anymore, but I have no pictures since we painted it last summer...but you get the idea...we are home.
We have been on a bit of a whirlwind since arriving back here at 12:30 am on July 5th. The next day the festivites of Devin's brother Jason's wedding began. Oh what a beautiful wedding weekend. Jason and Jen threw a magnificent wedding, and I hope to share pictures once I have some...Nevi was a bubble girl....kind like a flower girl but no flower petals, bubbles instead! Jen was the most radiant bride and Jason a dashing groom. It was wonderful to bring families together and celebrate this union! Now we are all about swimming lessons, camp, hot days, and back at work for me and Devin. Stay tuned more to come soon! ahhhhh home.

Beach Buddies

Sarah, Rose, Nevi and Ashley: summer beach freinds are so much fun. After being with all adults in Greece, Nevi is thrilled to be surrounded by kids. These children are the children of my summer beach buddies when I was growing up here. You would not believe what it is like for all of us to witness our children doing the exact same play as we did 30- 40 years ago. I am amzed at how connected we still are and now through our children as well. FUN.
We are sad to say this is our last day on Cape Cod. It is the Fourth of July Noday and tomorrow we drive to Portland , Maine to catch our flights back across the country. I dread another plane ride no matter how great a traveler Nevi is...it will be a long day, and we are still trying to get on the right time zone.....guess tomorrow we will cross the final time change.
We will spend our last day on the beach, me crewing for my brother, nat in a sailing race this afternoon, and then celebrating the Fourth with fireworks right out in the harbor in front of the house and hopefully a good long sleep. Happy 4th to you.

Maddie and Nevi

This is my God-Daughter, Madeline(Maddie) MacDonald with Nevi on the beach. I wish I could spend more time with Maddie, but she lives here in MA and we are in OR and so we get precious few moments during our summer visits. But she is the sweetest girl ever. Here nevi is chowing down her grilled cheese with a sea gull feather in the other hand while Maddie steals bananas from my Mom's purse!

View this morning

This is what we look at this morning. Nevi was again up at 5:30 am...not making mama happy, but then I looked out the window and saw the sun light on the boats in the harbor and realized I should be up at this hour.
I am hoping that Devin arrived back in Portland last night without and issues. And we send him love as he has to go back to work this moring. After a three week break, that is not going to be easy or fun. We love you.
Nevi and I will have another beach day it looks like and then maybe a boat adventure later in the day. All is well...even if I am sleep deprived and a bit off kilter...someone give me a greek coffee and I will be fine.

Tree House

One of the best delights of being at the Cape is my Mother's treehouse. Our dearest friend, Peter Nelson built it for my Mom in 2000. You would think the treehouse was built right along with the other structures on this land cause it feels as if it has been here forever. Nevi every morning says, can I go to the treehouse?
It is a magical zone filled with love and adventure for our little ones, my parents and for me when I get to sleep up there in the tree tops.

Time with Noni

Nevi was right into action the next day! She was so excited to play Polly Pockets with her Noni. Of course she woke up at 5am and her mother was not very happy about that time. But all in all, we are doing ok with jet lag...just letting it happen as our bodies adjust to being 7 hours earlier than we had been in Greece. We spent the day at the beach and had a good nap in the afternoon. Nevi is happy to have some of her usualy comforts like peanut Butter Panda puffs, children to play with who speak the same language, and time with her grandparents.

West Falmouth, Massachusetts

After a mega day of traveling on June 30th...Nevi and I arrived at my parent's home on Cape Cod. Dear Devin left us at Loagn airport in Boston and boarded a bus up to Portland, Maine. After being together for three weeks it was hard to seperate, but we did so quickly so D could jump on the earlier bus. Mom and Dad drove me and Nevi to the Cape.
This is my parent's home which was built by my Great great grandfather long ago.
